    • Wind Swept Fir Tree

    The Sentinel Fir spent its entire life being shaped by extremely harsh weather near the top of Mount Mitchell State Park. The tree was real but since it’s drawing it has fallen. The mountain can be seen in the background with the “wind throws” marching up the mountain repeatedly. The Ole Stone Observation Tower sat at the top of Mt Mitchell and it too has been torn down.
